Sr MTS, System Test Engineer – Opportunity for Working Flexibly Why will you enjoy this new opportunity? Working in the Horizon system test team, you will directly contribute to the quality of Horizon, which simplifies management of virtual desktop and app environments with a modern architecture that delivers the best experience no matter where your users are located. You will have the opportunity to deploy VDI solution just like what the customers really do to address their complicated business requirement, think from the point of view of the customers and the end users, and test quite a lot of amazing products including storage/network infrastructure, gateway, load balancer, identity provider, access manager, endpoint compliance checker, end-user profile management, security management, DEX, monitoring, etc, and of course Horizon itself. Furthermore, you are strongly encouraged to investigate the creative way within the projects and beyond the projects. If you are passionate about innovation, this is the place. Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing? o Within 1st week, learn how to manually setup Horizon and learn its major functionalities; in parallel, learn how to leverage automation tool to setup Horizon o Within 2nd week, start to learn the related 2nd/3rd party products o Within 1st month, design, develop and execute system tests and file bug reports. In parallel, start to learn the automation o Within 2nd month, independently own the projects with cross-team collaboration The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis? o Create and review test plans, test cases, and test specifications based on marketing and engineering requirements o Design, develop and execute tests and file bug reports o Design, code test automation, and execute/triage the pipeline o Work closely with developers to resolve issues and reproduce bugs o Setup test environments and validate fixes provided for defects o Own and work pro-actively towards automation coverage improvement and test cycle reduction o Take initiative to improve products, tools, work efficiency and process o Coach junior team members if needed o Manage activities to meet the delivery dates and report accurate, complete status o Partner with all stakeholders in QE ecosystem to deliver high quality products: Development teams, Cross QE teams, Product Mangers, Global support organization etc. o Other challenging work tasks What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like? The team is a professional system QE team working on Horizon Interoperability test and customer-oriented test. The team encourages to learn from each other, teach others and grow along with others being collaborative and courteous. Where is this role located? Most of the team member works from Beijing. Flexible: The role is considered flexible and will be a mix of working from a local VMware office and remote depending on your preferences and the arrangements determined with your future manager.
