Posts: Postdoctoral Position Research Body: Dublin City University Dept/Faculty: The Rince Institute Status: IRCSET Enterprise Partnership Scheme Closing Date: May 8th, 2011 IBM-Dublin City University Collaborative Project One Postdoctoral Position with the Performance Engineering Laboratory (PEL@DCU), Network Innovations Centre, The Rince Institute, Dublin City University. The Performance Engineering Laboratory at Dublin City University (PEL@DCU) is offering a position for a suitable postdoctoral fellow in the area of network performance modeling. The position will be co-funded by IRCSET and IBM through the IRCSET’s Enterprise Partnership Scheme. Applicants must meet IRCSET’s eligibility criteria and will be assessed independently by IRCSET. This position will involve research on the suitability of existing network protocols and infrastructure to carry high speed high bitrate traffic in the context of exascale computing. Following the research, designing of novel solutions may be required. Modeling and simulations will be employed. The desired postdoctoral fellow candidate should have a proven track record in one or more of the following areas: network performance, network traffic modelling and simulations, protocol performance analysis and novel delivery solutions design and should demonstrate capacity for independent research. A solid publication record is expected.
