时间:2012年9月24日(星期一)下午3:30—5:30
地点:教三楼337
报告摘要:Since its origins in China 3,000 years ago psychometrics has moved on, key points along the way being the invention of paper (105 AD), the first mental tests (1890), the invention of the computer (1936), Item Response Theory (1969), Computer Adaptive Testing (1984), and the invention of the Internet (1990). Today, psychometrics is the most important field in Applied Psychology. Everyone is tested, one way or another, from the cradle to the grave, and a huge number of test results are retained in databases around the world. The Psychometrics Centre at the University of Cambridge is at the forefront of developments in the area, ranging from Concerto, the cutting-edge open-source online adaptive testing platform, through psychological predictions based on the traces of people’s online behaviour, to myPersonality - a database of over 6 million detailed psycho-demographic profiles of social network users. This has been made freely available to researchers around the world. Prof. John Rust and Michal Kosinski will present the latest developments at the Centre and their plans for the future of psychometric testing.
