摘要：Microwave photonics is an interdisciplinary area that studies the interaction between microwave and optical signals, for the generation, distribution, control and processing of microwave and millimeter-wave signals by photonics. There are numerous applications of microwave photonics, such as optically controlled phased array antennas, radio-over-fiber systems, optical processing of microwave and millimeter-wave signals, wideband cable television distribution, and optical generation of microwave and mm-wave signals. Photonics also brings new functions to microwaves such as long delay lines, spectrum analysis, frequency conversion, optical control of microwave devices, high-performance oscillators, and ultra-fast analog-to-digital converters. In this talk, a brief introduction to microwave photonics will be presented. Then, several topics including fiber Bragg gratings for microwave photonics applications, optically controlled phased array antennas, optical processing of microwave signals, and optical millimeter-wave signal generation, radio-over-fiber and UWB over fiber techniques, and photonics ADC, will be discussed. Challenges in microwave photonics and future research directions will also be discussed.
