2008年由IEEE主办,中国电子学会、中国通信学会、清华大学、北京邮电大学共同协办的世界通信大会(International Conference on Communications, ICC 2008)5月19日至23日将在中国北京举行,今年会议的主题是“通信:更快、更高、更强”。借此机会,北邮校学术委员会、电信工程学院、信息工程学院等共同策划、组织ICC 2008北邮系列学术讲座,将陆续邀请到多位与会资深专家来我校作精彩的学术报告。本次活动是由电信院WT&T实验室发起,同时得到电信工程学院、信息工程学院等多个实验室的积极响应。 本场讲座由电信院数字通信与信息网络实验室、WT&T实验室共同主办。 题目:Transmitter Optimization for Generic Correlated MIMO Rayleigh Channels with Statistical Feedback 主讲人:张启图(Keith Q T Zhang)教授 香港城市大学电子工程系 主持人:乐光新教授(校学术委员会名誉委员、电信工程学院教授) 时间:2008年5月23日(周五)下午2: 00-4: 00 地点:教3-239 欢迎全校师生踊跃参加。 内容摘要: In this talk, we address the issue of transmitter optimization for generic correlated MIMO Rayleigh channels with statistical feedback. Although optimal transmit directions over generic correlated multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO) Rayleigh fading channels are well known to be the eigen beams defined by the transmit covariance matrix, the general issue of optimal transmit-beam number and power allocation remains unsolved. The current techniques heavily rely on the time-consuming Monte Carlo method. In this talk, by formulating the problem in the framework of Lagrange multipliers and by fully exploiting the algebraic structures and properties of the optimization problem at hand, we obtain a simple criterion for optimal beam number determination and a set of elementary equations for optimal power allocation. A threshold technique is developed to determine the number of beams that should be used over different SNR regions. This can be done, in advance, for a given channel covariance structure thereby facilitating optimal power allocation on a real time basis. Numerical results are presented for the illustration of the theory.
