Potential research topics include but not limited to:
1. Pervasive mobile Augmented Reality (AR);
2. Cognitive context sensing in Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR);
3. Visual sensing using event-based camera;
4. Intelligent Embedded System and Internet of Things;
5. Edge Computing, distributed machine learning;
Major requirements for this position are:
a. The applicant should hold a Master's degree with excellent marks in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
b. Demonstrated skill or experience in the following areas will be considered as an advantage: (1) design and programming for mobile or embedded systems; (2) deep learning; (3)signal processing for time-series and image data; (4) edge and distributed computing
c. Strong passion for researching mobile computing systems and machine learning.
d. Excellent oral and written communication skills
e. Successful candidate is expected to be a team player.
Strong candidates for PhD studies generally have undergraduate GPA above 85/100 and have experience either conducting research or developing advanced technical solutions outside of classroom settings (e.g., in independent studies, internships, or student competition).
