Index Serve Platform team Bing Index Serve is the core part of Bing’s search engine. The team is responsible to manage tens of thousands of machines and provide backend search engineer for document selection and ranking. The technology stack covers the hottest areas such as Resource Scheduling, Distributed Object Storage system, Index Selection/Ranking, Enabling AI in Bing and so on. Responsibilities We are looking for motivated and talented individuals at various career stages of their careers, to build core Search platform. As an engineer, you will play a critical role in the team. You will need to understand the design, code and features of many different areas, quickly come up to speed and deliver features via this intuitiveness, attention to detail and responsiveness. You must be able to design services that are highly scale, low latency, always on, low cost to maintain and operate. You should be able to influence other developers to come up with the right design and architecture for their components and make them the model for common patterns going forward. You must have good partnership and influencing skills to be able to work across multiple teams. Qualifications Pursuing a BS/MS or PhD degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field 6+ years of experience programming in Java, Python, C++/C# and/or other computer programming languages preferred Experience in Search related area is preferred Expertise in very large scale distributed system preferred. Expertise in big data system such as Spark, Hadoop, Yarn, HBase preferred Expertise in Deep Learning such as Image, NLP preferred. Experience in information retrieval, data mining, machine learning, deep learning, classification or clustering is a big plus Experience in Deep Learning such as TensorFlow is a big plus Ability to derive creative and innovative solutions by thinking "outside the box" Microsoft is an equal opportunity employer. Responsibilities We’re looking for experienced business intelligence analysts with strong product focus and expertise. As an business intelligence analysts of News & Feeds team, you will work with PM and engineers to gather, analyze, and compile data needed to identify trends patterns and insights of business development, then make recommendations for business actions. You will have a great impact on the development of Microsoft News & Feeds products, which affected the experiences of hundreds of millions of users across different countries every day. o Developing and managing business intelligence solutions for the organization. Participate and lead business opportunity analysis, report generation with market trends and insights o Design data collection models for better information collection and business monitoring; Collaborating with team members for the purpose of collecting data and executing the company’s mission o Identify opportunities for future product development and methods to improve existing products by gathering and analyzing business intelligence from a variety of sources including company data, industry and field reports, public information, etc. Provide recommendation to the management and executives for implementation; Qualifications Qualifications o B.S./M.S. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance or related major; PhD is a plus. o 5+ years of strong expertise in business intelligence analysis / data mining, for internet personalization products; Thorough understanding of the Personalized Recommendation business processes and the industry at large. o Strong communications skills (both verbal and written); Works well independently and as part of a team. o Strong business analysis skills. Excellent ability to analyze information and think systematically. Ability to handle databases and understand technology-driven business intelligence tools. o Knowledge and experience in any of the following areas is strong plus: Recommender System, Information Retrieval, Data Mining, experience building business intelligence system in production systems at large scale.
