It is called ITU Young Minds in Telecom competition and the winners will be awarded a paid internship to work in ITU’s headquarter in Geneva for 3 months. I had the opportunity last year and it was indeed a very good experience. The deadline for this competition is 15 April 2007. 这里是这次竞赛的具体介绍，详情与历年参赛情况请参见http://www.itu.int/osg/spu/youngminds/ About the 2007 ITU Young Minds in Telecoms competition: The 2007 ITU Young Minds in Telecoms competition is open to current students and recent graduates in economics, political science, law, literature, computer science, information systems or a related field. Application procedure: In addition to the online registration form, competition participants were asked to submit the following two documents: A one-page curriculum vitae including basic information, educational background and work experience (if applicable) An essay of no more that 1'000 words on one of the topics listed below. Essay topics for the 2007 ITU Young Minds in Telecoms: What do you understand by the concept of technological convergence and what are its key trends? In your view, what are (1) the main benefits arising from technological convergence as they relate to the information and communication technologies (ICTs) sector? (e.g. new devices, new applications, new services etc.), and (2) the biggest challenges brought about by technological convergence? (e.g. regulatory challenges, cybersecurity threats, socio-ethical implications etc.). How can we ensure that the drawbacks of convergence do not outweigh its benefits? Once selected: The selected applicant(s) will have the opportunity to have their work posted on the ITU Strategy and Policy Unit website and/or cited in an ITU publication. In addition, the Young Minds competition winners are offered the opportunity of a short-term research contract in the Strategy and Policy Unit for three months during the summer or autumn of 2007 and a contribution to the cost of an economy class flight from their current place of residence, plus CHF 10'000 towards living expenses while in Geneva.
