Miller Aquarius is considered a social, gregarious sign that is said to be eager to meet new people and expand their ever-widening circle of friends. This month you will joyfully live up to your reputation. The new moon, December 5, will brilliantly light your eleventh house of events, groups, and friendships, so you can be sure that the two weeks that follow that date will be highly social and lots of fun. Saturn, now in compatible Libra, will be beaming gifts to that Sun and moon, so your actions could bring stability and long-range benefits. Early December could be a perfect time to redo and update your blog, website, or social media page; to give a talk to a group; or plan a party, perhaps to do fundraising for a charity. You are likely to make at least one new friend, if not more, and if you are promoting a charity important to you this month, your timing will be perfect, for your event should do well. Mars will be helpful too, by beaming Neptune and making you feel unusually inspired when it comes to working on creative projects. If you work in a creative field, or work as support to creative artists or actors, during the first week of December new ideas will come easily, so take time to generate ideas for a current or future project. Uranus, your ruler, who has been crawling along since July 5, will awaken on December 5. Watch what happens - you pace of life will speed forward very noticeably. Uranus, your ruler, will be volatile this month, first by arguing with Mars on December 3, and later with the Sun on December 17. Uranus is in your second house of money, so this suggests that your socializing could make you concerned about how much you are spending. You will have to keep an eye on your outgo. It's alternatively possible that loaning money to a friend could prove disastrous, so avoid doing so now. If you have already loaned money and expect it back, there could be problems now. If you owe the money, try to get at least part of it back. Both days, December 3 and 17, will be very touchy days, so be careful about what you say and how you handle things. There will be another date to watch your finances, including spending and the safety of belongings, and that's December 21, the total eclipse of the moon. That date will have a decidedly wider area of influence than just a day or two. Let's study the eclipse in detail. The total eclipse of the moon will be in Gemini, the first in a long series that will begin December 21, 2011, and end in May 25, 2013. These eclipses will begin to focus on your platonic and romantic relationships, as new eclipses - always arriving in pairs - come by every six months. Eclipses are meant to expose truths and increase motivation to get us moving forward, as eclipses work against the status quo. Eclipses will test the strength of a relationship or situation and show you any weak links that it could find that you might want to fix. If the eclipse deems a situation to be strong, you will be asked to make something more of it. If the eclipse finds flaws, you will be challenged to find fixes, or to leave it altogether. This time we will only have one eclipse in this series, a lunar eclipse in Gemini, because the eclipse series in Cancer-Capricorn is not quite over yet. (We will have a solar eclipse in Capricorn on January 4 highlighting not love, but your inner life, and I will talk about that one in your report in January.) If you don't have a romantic relationship, an eclipse might bring you one, and if you have been dating, it will test the strength of that current relationship. If it is good, you will be strongly encouraged to make something more of the relationship, say, by getting engaged at this time. The coming December 21 eclipse will be difficult for most people, but you are fortunate in that Gemini is an air sign like yours, therefore the eclipse will be in friendly angle. Despite the initial stress it may cause you (most likely concerning money), you will do better than most people under it, and this will be true if you were born February 17 or within five days of this date. There are several qualities of this eclipse that make it one to watch. It'll be a full moon lunar eclipse, making it an emotional event because it marks an ending, and it falls on the solstice. Any eclipse falling on a solstice is automatically three times more powerful. The last time we had an eclipse fall on the solstice, it was at zero degree Cancer on June 21, 2001, falling one-half degree later than this one. This is a total eclipse, not partial, of very long duration, again, adding to its strength. There are more signs this will be a big event. Uranus will be in hard angle to the Sun on December 21, and that is given extra weight and power because Uranus is your ruler. You may find that a relationship takes a wrong turn when you hear a comment that upsets you. This incident would come up rather unexpectedly, and might spell the end of things. If an eclipse does not touch any planets in your chart, you will hardly notice it, but if it does, you will. The only way to know (since I cannot see everything in your chart) is to watch and wait. While a lover is the most likely person to be the subject of your thinking, if you are a parent of a teenage or older child, I suppose it could be your child. I don't like to suggest this, because children (no matter how old) hold a special place in my heart and I know we all want to protect our children and always be on good terms with them. If you have had problems with a child, or with your lover, then you must have your antenna up. You can head off problems by doing all you can to keep lines of communication open beginning in early December, and in your talks, rather than be accusatory, remain encouraging. As said, this eclipse seems to bring money into the conversation, for the Sun and moon will be in hard angle to Uranus, and Uranus will be in your personal earned income and resources sector (second house) of your chart. I know you are tired of financial problems that come up to hit you out of left field, dear Aquarius. I feel this may be the very last one you see. In March, Uranus will be leaving Pisces, a difficult placement you've had to endure since 2003. When Uranus moves on, he will be in a much more compatible place for you in the coming seven years. Oddly, Neptune, the planet ruling your second house of earned income, will be beautifully angled to the Sun and full moon on December 21, suggesting one of two things. 1) Neptune is the planet of self-sacrifice, so you may have a big expense to help a child or a friend, but you do so joyfully because you see the need. I will give you an example, but you could probably think of dozens of possible examples, too. Here's one to get you thinking. Let's say you celebrate Christmas and have been saving up to give Christmas presents. Your older child, living on her own, is out of work and in a real panic about money. She calls you in tears, and she has never done anything like this before. You quickly decide to send her all the money you have been saving to buy presents to get her out of a tight jam. The money helps her pay for rent, food, and other necessities. Instead of saying, "Oh well, there goes Christmas, I no money left for anything else!" you realize, "Wait, this IS the true spirit of Christmas. There could not be any act more closely aligned to the spirit of the season than to bring comfort to those who need it most." Indeed, with Neptune so beautifully in sync with this eclipse, the message of this eclipse may be one of true giving. Aquarius is one of the least materialistic signs, so this would fit your personality quite well. Another way this may work out is 2) your creative gifts are strong and you sell a product or piece of art this month, or find your services in high demand, near December 21, and as a result, you see more money flow to you. Actually these two possibilities are not mutually exclusive, as you may experience both outcomes. I have always felt that to get more money, you must be generous with money, so that may be the case here. Mercury will be retrograde from December 10 to 30, first in Capricorn and then in Sagittarius, and you will feel the delays and slowdowns immediately, the minute you enter December. The upside of a Mercury retrograde period is that we are all encouraged to do more with the relationships that we have already started rather than try to meet new people. (If you work in sales, take note of that - former clients will be better prospects for you than new ones.) You will come in contact with several old friends this month, and one may be a pal you had not seen in years. This is always fun and you will enjoy catching up. You should be careful with your personal belongings all month, as Mercury in retrograde makes us all forgetful and more likely to leave something behind in a taxi or other mode of transportation. (Mercury rules all modes of transportation.) This is an eclipse in Gemini, Mercury's ruler, so the confusion is only heightened. Had Mercury been strong AND friendly, we would have a different outlook, but Uranus will be gunning for not only the Sun and full moon eclipse but also for Mercury, all within very tight mathematical degrees. (I will add, as an aside, that Mercury also rules Aquarius' love life (fifth house), so that's why your love life may rock near December 21. You may want to protect your treasures by labeling everything, because a Good Samaritan may find what you lost (if you do lose anything) and want to help you get it back. Tape your business card on the back of your computer, and also put one inside your eyeglass and sunglass cases, and also inside your smartphone case. Check to see you've put your airport ID back in your wallet as soon as you don't need it, so you don't lose that, too. We carry more items in December than we usually do, so be careful, dear Aquarius. Holiday gift shopping is a problem this month, as Mercury retrograde will affect our judgment and perception, along with our ability to communicate. Buying expensive things is always a bad idea during a retrograde, but electronics and appliances are the most troublesome to buy and should be avoided. By the time you enter December, it is too late to safely buy a computer, smartphone, new dishwasher, or other electronic for your beloved, but you can buy a gift certificate. New models will come out, and your recipient will be so glad that you chose this route. Even if you know the precise model to buy, things go wrong when you purchase electronics under a Mercury retrograde phase. If you want to buy jewelry, perfume, apparel, or other things, you can do so from December 1 to 5, but after that, you will be getting a little too close to Mercury retrograde for comfort. Gift cards are the way to go, but you must know the retail store your recipient loves to shop in. If the gift you want to buy is small and inexpensive, you can do as you like - there is little risk in that. Your career should be going well this month. Venus is now in Scorpio, moving at full speed and shining like a brilliant lantern at the very top of your chart. You will come to the attention of influential people, and because Venus rules popularity, you will get rave reviews for your work. Romantically, as you can imagine, the December 21 eclipse could cause an unexpected earthquake in your love life. Remember, however, that eclipses work in the extreme, and they can be either extremely thrilling or extremely upsetting. There seems to be no middle course, so you might have some very good news, too. This eclipse falls in your fifth house, so that house rules the person you are dating if you are single. Alternatively, the eclipse will focus you on a creative project you are involved in, as one of dozens of other possible outcomes. This eclipse will look for weak links and if it finds none, it will help you move your relationship or project to a new and more sophisticated level. Last month offered you an opportunity to reach for an exciting, more responsible position, and this month, you may be following up on those interviews and opportunities. It is never wise to give an answer when Mercury is retrograde because things are in flux, and more information will be forthcoming next month. Mercury will be retrograde this month from December 10 to 30, so when delays show up and you find it hard to reach people, just laugh. There won't be much you can do, and everyone will have a similar experience. By January, the pace will pick up so much that at times you may wish you were back in happy, sleepy December. New faces will enter your life in the first half of the month, and among those you meet, there will be one or two people you will want to see again to get to know better. You will be cheered by the move of your ruling planet, Uranus, to direct speed from December 5 onward - you will soon feel the pace pick up, and you won't be as mired in red tape and delays by January. Uranus in stronger mode (to stay strong during the coming seven months) will help your financial standing, too. In all ways, this is good news. The focal part of the month will be a rather difficult full moon eclipse, December 21, which will light your house of true love. The bone of contention again will be money, but this time you seem to be at odds with a lover or one of your children. Discussions could become quite heated, so knowing this, try to keep your cool. Another bone of contention might be your heavy work schedule - apparently loved ones feel left out. Keep your health strong, because if you feel the sniffles coming on, or are low on sleep, you might feel overwhelmed by the demands on you at the time. If your birthday falls within days of February 17, you will find a way to turn the tables and make this eclipse work to benefit you, but you will still feel tension until you do. These are all days when your nerves will be frayed. Do not put too much on your schedule - you will need time to attend to all that comes up. With Mars in Capricorn from December 5 and the Sun moving into the same sign on December 21, as the month draws to a close, you will increasingly crave privacy and rest. Celebrating 15 Years on the Internet Since December 14, 1995 I can hardly believe that Astrology Zone will have completed 15 years on the Internet this month. When I first started, I was writing a little over 204,000 words a year for the site, and now I am topping 500,000 words a year. I write all the words, and it is always a labor of love. I feel I am a better astrologer than I was when I started, and I believe that is because the discipline of writing makes me study every detail. My site is my pride and joy, and I am so happy to have gained your trust, dear reader. Thank you so much for supporting me so enthusiastically. The years have flown by, and the digital world has become much more sophisticated than back in 1995. When I first started, most people didn't know what a URL was, so I was not allowed to mention my website while being interviewed on TV. Things have changed, and now I have Twitter (@astrologyzone) and Facebook to help me get quick messages to you as needed, in a blink of an eye. I love the new world we have created! Communication is so fast! Today I will share with you a little secret. Some of you may have noticed that on Alexa.com and Quantcast.com (traffic monitoring sites) my start date for Astrology Zone is listed as December 26, 1996, not the correct date of December 14, 1995. Back in December 1995, I was licensing my exclusive content to Time Warner's corporate Pathfinder site, and those were during the pre-AOL days. I had notified the people at Time Warner that I wanted to quickly register my site's name, Astrology Zone, as a federal trademark as well as a domain name, and they agreed I should do it. First, before I could file that paperwork we needed to add certain new agreements to our existing contract. Time Warner is a big company, and sometimes the gears move slowly. When I finally got the paperwork and put in my request for my federal trademark, I was mortified to discover a group specializing in pornography, located in Beni Brak, Israel, had taken my site's name in federal trademark - Astrology Zone - just days earlier. My lawyer, who specializes in intellectual property, could hardly believe this news. The fact that this had happened in Beni Brak, Israel, seemed even more unbelievable to my lawyer, as this city, he explained to me, is one of the most religious and sacred cities in all of Israel. As we did our research, the evidence was mounting that indeed this horrible company who marketed pornography was holding the trademark on my new site's name. My lawyer made an appointment with this company to try to reason with the owners in person. When he arrived in Israel, the owners promptly cancelled the meeting a day prior to the meeting, knowing he had flown so far to see them. This was not a good sign, and my lawyer asked me what I wanted to do next. At the time, my site was less than a year old, but I was outraged that anyone would take the name out from under me. I told my lawyer that if I had to sell every stick of furniture I owned, I would do so to pay for the legal work that had to be done to get my name back. He wrote a letter to this company and what we learned became even more incredible. This company was "cyber-squatting" the name of Astrology Zone, had no plans to actually use it, and planned, in their words, to "sell the name and trademark to the highest bidder," all of which is illegal. I decided I would take my case to the highly respected tribunal at the World Intellectual Property Organization in Geneva, Switzerland. The court listened, and in the end, sided with me, and my name Astrology Zone was given back to me by the court on December 26, 1996. This is why all the traffic matrix sites have the incorrect "birth" date for Astrology Zone. I gave birth to my site December 14, 1995, and that was the first day my site first appeared on the Internet. I thought you might have wondered about the discrepancy of these dates, and now you know the story. Later, after AOL arrived at Time Warner, I was to move the exclusive license to the Walt Disney Company for Go.com and ABCNews. Then, on September 10, 2001, I brought Astrology Zone to its own independent servers and hired my own team where it resides to this day. I always have owned Astrology Zone one hundred percent and that allows me to cater to you, dear reader, in the way I feel is best. Astrology Zone has grown so much since 1995!
