Recommended Raiding AddOns
Raiding presents not only a great challenge in gameplay, but also introduces vast opportunities for some very creative and helpful AddOns. Here are just a few of the many that will help you on your path to conquering the deadliest adversaries in Azeroth and beyond.
Boss Mods
If you're trying to tackle a boss encounter, you're looking at either working for hours - maybe days - to tackle the encounter, or you can use these great player-created AddOns to help you along the way to obtaining epics!
Deadly Boss Mods
BigWigs Bossmods
Threat Meters
Threat meters are quickly becoming an integral part of raiding; everyone dies one time or another due to generating too much threat too quickly. They're also incredibly helpful for encounters where threat changes or is wiped constantly.
KLHThreatMeter
Omen Threat Meter
Raid Frames
You'll definitely want to keep track of groups outside of your own in a raid setting - especially as a healer - so these AddOns should help get the job done.
Grid
PerfectRaid
SRaidFrames
CT_RaidAssist
Unit Frames
Have you ever tried to raid with the default Unit Frames? It can be very frustrating; there's an incredible lack of information available compared to what player-created AddOns can offer, so to that end we've provided a list of some of the great Unit Frames available here on Curse.
Perl Classic Unit Frames
X-Perl UnitFrames
PitBull
Sage Unitframes
Action Bars
Let's face it - in the raid game you need more space than what the default action bars allow. Not only that, there's a good chance that their layout doesn't fit in with your ideas of what looks good and lets you see the largest portion of realestate on your screen. With that in mind, three of the more popular Action Bar AddOns you'll find on Curse are listed below.
Bongos2
TrinityBars
Bartender3
Cooldown Timers
While you're looking for your Action Bars, it's also very useful to have the cooldowns display on your hotkeys. We suggest using one of the following to achieve this.
CooldownCount
OmniCC
Cast and Timer Bars
Whether you just want a cool new look for your cast bar, or you want to see timer bars for duration spells you've placed on your target, these AddOns will greatly improve the information available to you.
Natur EnemyCastBar
Quartz
ClassTimer
DoTimer - Highly recommended for Warlocks and Shadow Priests
Combat Log
You'll get a lot of combat log spam while tredging through raid instances, so looking at succinct information tailored to your desires is a plus. With that in mind, we recommend you check out some of the following AddOns.
HitsMode
EavesDrop
SimpleCombatLog
Scrolling Combat Text
Tired of the default Scrolling Combat Text available through the Blizzard UI? Here are a few of the options that can be found on Curse, created by the great members of the AddOn Author community.
ScrollingCombatText
SCT - Damage
MikScrollingBattleText
Damage Parsers
You'll no doubt want to keep track of the damage you're doing, so this list of AddOns will help a great deal. Not only for bragging rights - which is always great - but also to gauge the overall Damage Per Second(DPS) you and your raid members can maintain throughout encounters.
CombatStats
SW Stats
Recount
MinnaStats Damage Meters
Recap (Hawksy)
DamageMeters
Miscellaneous AddOns
There are other AddOns that don't quite fit into the categories above, but are boons to raiding. You can find those listed below.
Elkano's BuffBars
Decursive 2.0 -Ace2-
Simple Raid Target Icons
EkRaidAttendance
RatingBuster
EnergyWatch - Recommended for Rogues
PallyPower - Recommended for Paladins
Kharthus's Hunter Timers - Recommended for Hunters
