PhD Positions available: artificial intelligence for safe radar signal processing We are hiring 2 PhD students as part of an exciting collaborative project with NXP Semiconductors in Eindhoven. The PhD positions are part of a large project in the area of artificial intelligence for safe radar signal processing. We are looking for strong MSc graduates that can work on the edge of theory and implementation. We are looking for students with a background on for example digital communications, information theory, signal processing, machine learning, filter design, digital radio, audio processing, etc. The students are expected to spend considerable amount of time at NXP. Work Package Description The “Beyond Kalman Neural Network-controlled Smart Digital Filters” work package of the RAISE (Robust AI for safe (radar) signal processing) project will investigate and develop efficient low-complexity machine learning (artificial neural networks and deep learning) techniques for smart digital signal processing. In particular, Project 5 “Neural network-controlled smart digital filter for audio processing” will concentrate on portable sound-based applications (e.g. context-aware noise cancellation algorithms in headphones, hearing aids, etc.). On the other hand, Project 6 “Smart digital filters for radio broadcast interference rejection in electrical vehicles” will aim at developing low-complexity hybrid model-based and data-driven processing solutions for the automotive radio communication systems. Both projects will be carried out with a strong accent on implementing the state-of-the-art algorithms in hardware.
