The ISS is small because it was so far away, at about 708 kilometers, when this picture was taken. At this distance, it subtended an angle of only about 26 arc seconds, which is much smaller than when I shot the ISS transiting the Sun. As viewed with the unaided eye, the ISS started crossing the face of the Moon at about the 4 o'clock position, crossed near the center, and exited at about the 10 o'clock position.
