学术报告通知 报告题目: Wireless Body Area Sensor Networks for Ubiquitous Healthcare报告人: Professor Ahmed MEHAOUA, University of Paris Descartes主持人:邹仕洪 副教授 时间:2015年5月29日(周五)下午(18:00-19:00)地点:北邮科技大厦4楼第五会议室报告简介:------------------------------- Abstract:The Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) emerges into the mainstream of the medical implant communication services, where sets of sensors and actuators are embedded/attached to the human body in order to provide various services. These services include continuous and remote health monitoring with real-time updates of medical records, computer assisted rehabilitation, early detection of medical conditions, artificial immune system creation, or paralyzed muscle stimulation. The embedded/attached sets of sensors and actuators in the human body are designed and configured such that they collect the desired physiological data related to this individual without regard to the time and location, and whether the body is moving or still. The new field of Wireless Body Area Networks WBAN requires a high level of security, privacy and reliability to make them viable. Moreover, in order to improve the system lifetime, it is essential to ensure that the communication between the mounted sensor/actuator nodes, wearable relay nodes and sink/controller node takes place in the right way. In WBAN, the dynamic nature of the human body, complexity of the human tissues structure and body shape give variation to the traditional radio channel making difficult the design and the development of lightweight and context-aware communication protocols that are able to reduce energy consumption, and packet loss rate while achieving a reasonable/acceptable trade-off between reliability, cost and efficiency. Therefore, this talk will give an overview of Wireless BAN challenges and solutions in designing energy efficient and secure Wireless Body Area Networks for remote and ubiquitous healthcare monitoring services. Prof. Ahmed Mehaoua’s Bio:Ahmed MEHAOUA is a Full Professor of Computer Communication in the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Paris Descartes, France. From 2012 to 2013, he was a visiting professor at the Division of IT convergence Engineering, POSTECH University, Korea, where he is conducting research on Wireless Healthcare Systems and Applications. He is also the Head of the Multimedia Networking and Security Department at the LIPADE, a governmental computer science research center in Paris, France. He is the Vice President of the Scientific Council and the Director of the post-graduate studies on Computer Science of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, University of Paris Descartes. Prior to join University of Paris, he was an associate professor at the University of Versailles, France, where he founded and led the Multimedia and Wireless Networking Laboratory. From 1998 to 2011, he was with the University of Cambridge, UK, as a post-doctoral research fellow in the Center for Communications Systems Research (CCSR), an University of Cambridge and Hitachi Telecom Europe joint R& D center. From 1995 to 1998, he was with the Computer Science Research Institute of Montreal, Canada, and was involved in various R& D projects on telecommunication System Management, and Quality of Service Management in broadband networks with Ericsson & Bell Canada. His research interests include security and resource management in Wireless Medical Sensor Networks, Wireless Area Body Networking (WBAN) for medical and health applications, and Quality of Service (QoS) optimization for audiovisual communications. His research has been supported by government and industry funded projects such as the European Commission, French Ministry of Education and Research (ANR), CNRS, THALES, Thomson, Siemens, Ericsson and Orange Labs. among others. He published more than 150 papers on refereed journals and conferences and he served on various program committees of conferences in computers and communications (Globecom, ICC, HealthCom, PIMRC, LCN, VTC, WCNC).
