Me: Prints it out to the screen?
Client: No, on their printer.
Me: Well, we can make it so that if they click the Print button, or if they click File then Print, it will. We can even make it bring up a pop-up box that will ask them if they want to print it, using Javascript, but it might annoy some users.
Client: No, I don't want that - I just want it to print it when they visit the page, without asking them anything.
Me: I can't do that, I'm afraid.
Client: Why not?
Me: Because that's not the way that the web works. If websites could force your printer to print things, then everybody's web site would do it: and you wouldn't want everybody using your printer when you were surfing the web, would you?
Client: I don't care about those other websites; I just want you to make it work for my website.
