Develops technical expertise in test methods and product knowledge. Receives assignments from QA Manager and/or QA Lead and clearly reports test progress and quality risks. Essential Functions o Develops and executes the test strategy (plans, cases, etc.) for assigned areas. o Logs defects into issues database and tracks them through closure. o Configures workstations and operating environments as needed to complete assigned testing. o Reports test results for assigned features and functionality. o May participate in the automation of tests. o Assists technical services staff in the resolution of customer escalations. Expectations o Demonstrates the ability to analyze a problem and complete detailed reports. o Able to methodically produce the steps which exhibit bugs in the product and is able to reproduce and communicate these steps. o Shows initiative in gaining in-depth experience in areas of technology relevant to testing of company products. o Highly team oriented; able to thrive in an agile development environment with few barriers to creativity. Passion for quality with testing. o Excels in an environment of continuous change. o Has strong communication skills, both in writing and orally. Qualifications o Education: Formal education in computer science or equivalent experience. o Experience: Entry-level o Knowledge of Microsoft Windows products. Preferred o Experience with Linux and/or UNIX is a plus. o Experience with networking and/or communications protocols, especially TCP/IP. o Experience with 1 or more programming languages. Job Title: Associate Software Engineer Location: Beijing Job Summary Entry level position for individuals. Works under the direction of a higher level developer on tasks encompassing analyzing, developing, modifying, documenting, testing, and debugging. Learns and exhibits departmental standards and procedures, and becomes familiar with technologies relevant to the company’s products. Essential Functions o Under direction, assists in analyzing, developing, or modifying programs, working from written and/or oral requirements and specifications. o Tests and debugs software and delivers to directing developer for system integration and test. o Provides regular feedback (e.g. detailed status reports) to supervisor on progress. o Translates technical guidance received from higher level developers into usable engineering data applicable to the particular assignment. o Documents code modules in external design documentation. o Participates in design and code reviews. Qualifications o Education: BA/BS Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience, MS is preferred. o Knowledge of C/C++ or Java development in a cross-platform environment. o Knowledgeable in networking technologies such as TCP/IP, sockets programming, network protocols such as streaming, IM, peer to peer, etc o Understanding of multi-threaded, asynchronous programming environments o Good communication (written and oral) and team-work skills o Familiar with programming under Unix/Linux environments
