If properly analyzed, this data can be a source of rich intelligence for providing real-time decision making in various mobile applications and for the provision of mobile recommendations. Indeed, mobile recommendations constitute an especially important class of recommendations because mobile users often find themselves in unfamiliar environments and are often overwhelmed with the "new terrain" abundance of unfamiliar information and uncertain choices. Therefore, it is especially useful to equip them with the tools and methods that will guide them through all these uncertainties by providing useful recommendations while they are "on the move." In this talk, we aim to address the unique challenges of recommendations in mobile and pervasive environments from both theoretical and practical perspectives. Specifically, we provide a number of case studies which help to understand commonality and diversity of mobile recommendation techniques across different application domains. Also, we introduce how to do mobile recommendations with security and privacy awareness. 随着移动技术的发展，我们已能够在许多不同移动应用中收集和处理大量数据。如果这些数据经过合理的分析，它们能够为多种移动应用中的实时决策以及移动推荐提供丰富的智能来源。事实上，移动推荐已经成为推荐系统领域中的一种重要类别，因为移动用户经常处在陌生的环境中，并且往往因为“陌生地带”的大量陌生信息和不确定选择而不知所措。因此，当人们处于移动环境中，为他们提供有用的推荐来引导他们解决不确定性问题是非常有必要的。在这次讲座中，我们旨在从理论和实践的角度分析和解决在移动和普适环境下进行推荐的特殊挑战。特别地，我们提供了大量案例来帮助理解在不同应用领域下的移动推荐技术的共性和多样性。此外，我们还将介绍如何实现考虑安全和隐私的移动推荐。主讲人简介：Dr. Hui Xiong is currently a Full Professor and the Director of Rutgers Center for Information Assurance at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, where he received a two-year early promotion/tenure (2009), the Rutgers University Board of Trustees Research Fellowship for Scholarly Excellence (2009), and the ICDM-2011 Best Research Paper Award (2011). Dr. Xiong received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota (UMN), USA, in 2005, the B.E. degree in Automation from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), China, and the M.S. degree in Computer Science from the National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore. His general area of research is data and knowledge engineering, with a focus on developing effective and efficient data analysis techniques for emerging data intensive applications. He has published prolifically in refereed journals and conference proceedings (3 books, 50+ journal papers, and 70+ conference papers). He is the co-Editor-in-Chief of Encyclopedia of GIS by Springer, and an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering (TKDE) as well as the Knowledge and Information Systems (KAIS) journal. He has served regularly on the organization and program committees of numerous conferences, including as a Program Co-Chair of the Industrial and Government Track for the 18th ACM SIGKDD International Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (KDD), a Program Co-Chair for the IEEE 2013 International Conference on Data Mining (ICDM-2013), and a General Co-Chair for the IEEE 2015 International Conference on Data Mining (ICDM-2015). He is an ACM Distinguished Scientist. 熊辉博士目前是美国新泽西州州立大学教授和罗格斯信息安全中心的中心主任，于2009年提前两年破格成为终身教授，并先后获得罗格斯大学董事会卓越学术研究奖（2009年）、ICDM-2011最佳研究论文奖（2011年）。熊辉博士于2005年在美国明尼苏达大学（UMN）获得计算机科学专业博士学位，在中国科学技术大学（USTC）获得自动化专业工学学士学位，在新加坡国立大学（NUS）获得计算机科学专业硕士学位。其研究领域是数据与知识工程，重点关注于为新兴的数据密集型应用研发高效的数据分析技术。熊辉博士已经发表3部著作、50多篇期刊论文、70多篇会议论文。现任Springer出版的《Encyclopedia of GIS》的联合主编、国际期刊TKDE和KAIS的副主编。经常参与多项会议的组织工作和程序委员会，包括第18届ACM SIGKDD中企业和政府分会的联合主席、ICDM2013程序委员会联合主席、ICDM 2015联合主席。此外，熊辉博士已当选ACM杰出科学家。网络与交换技术国家重点实验室 http://portal.bupt.edu.cn//html/main/col51/2014-12/09/20141209093049367249871_1.html
