The team will ? build an intelligent and personalized digital system to improve client shopping experience and increase the GMB for eBay; ? build big data processing systems and applications to enable real time feeding, bidding & attribution. ? build highly scalable services to serve a large traffic volume. ? build machine learning models for item selections and recommendations. We are looking for an intern to participate in projects that leverage cutting-edge techniques in marketing systems to create solutions to benefit millions of customers. You will be offered a great opportunity to build a large-scale system in collaboration with peer engineers and scientists. Job Responsibilities ? Active contributor on design, development, test of complex, multi-tier data driven applications. ? Work with other full-time engineers to develop innovative solutions that meet needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, and reliability while meeting realistic implementation schedules and adhering to development goals and principles. ? Develop industry and product technical expertise. ? Understand the broader business context around their area and provide intelligent solutions. Job Requirements ? Enrolled in Bachelor, Master or Ph.D. program in computer science, machine learning, mathematics, statistics, computational physics, operational research or other highly quantitative fields ? Proficient in Python, C++ or Java programming, good understanding on big data technology, familiar with open source technology ? Has experiences to write production level code ? Experience with Hadoop, Spark and Hive is a plus. ? Hard working, critical thinking, and being proactive. Strong personal interest in learning, researching and creating novel solutions with high business impact. Additional Requirements: 1. Expect to graduate in 2023. 2. Be able to work at least 3 days per week for at least 3 months.
