If you intend to visit one or more Schengen Countries in the course of a single trip, you must apply for a visa at the Consulate of the Country that is your main destination (i.e. where you will stay longer). If, in the course of your trip, you will spend an equal amount of time in different Countries, the visa MUST be requested at the Consulate of the Schengen Country port of entry. Please note that the border authorities may refuse entry to a foreign national who does not meet all requirements. 申请申根的国家：主要目的地（即，停留最久）或者第一入境国（如果每个国家停留时间差不多）我的短期项目，在意大利停留一周，比其他国家稍微久一些，于是申请了意大利。 1.预约申请意大利纽约使馆需要在网上申请预约，传送：https://prenotaonline.esteri.it/login.aspx?cidsede=100061&ReturnUrl=/ 需要注册，然后才可以预约，可能6,7,8月人数较多。我6月初打算预约的时候，发现已经排到8月了，于是不得已预约了比利时使馆和法国使馆的申根。过了一周偶然发现有一个6月25号的意大利纽约馆空位，于是就果断申请。 2.准备材料 http://www.consnewyork.esteri.it/Consolato_NewYork/Menu/I_Servizi/Per_chi_si_reca_in_italia/visas_to_enter.htm 根据这个网页上的自己申请签证的种类可以查看签证所需材料，我本来看的是旅游签，但是面签当天在门卫和VO处得知，我应该申studdent签证。我把student visa所需的材料列一下： Kindly Prepare 2 set of documents, origanized in the following order: first set - originals application (signed, with photo attached) copy of the passport copy of the student ID letter of the italian school(in Italian) original proof of lodging original letter of the study abroad program original verification of enrollment in the US university (specifying expected graduation date) original official transcript original affidavit of support original letter of bank (original) affidavit of insurance original and signed second set - photocopies letter of the italian school(in Italian) photocopy letter of the study abroad program photocopy verification of enrollment in the US university photocopy affidavit of support photocopy letter of bank photocopy affidavit of insurance photocopy 3.面签当天其实也不能算面签，预约当天去大使馆（地址：690 Park Ave, New York, NY 10065），我是坐F线在Lexington Ave下车，走到Park Ave，然后从63街走到69街的，转到69街就是大使馆的小门。等门卫出来叫名字，进去。门卫看你护照，根据你申请签证类型，给你发一张纸，包含我在上面列的材料。你需要根据上面的顺序，自己排好材料。坐等面签。意大利使馆的VO都不是特别温柔，在我之前的美国妹纸被VO凶了好久。我也被VO刁难了20多分钟。VO主要根据你的申请签证类型，一份一份的浏览审核材料，可能会问一些关于材料的问题。意大利纽约使馆的签证费可以刷信用卡，也可以交cash（不过要准备好零钱）。注意：一定要明确的准备Flight Reservation，酒店订单，具体行程。 Study Abroad office 给我打出来的official letter里只有几个大城市的酒店，也没有具体入住退房时间和行程单，也没有机票信息。（但是，我申UK Visa都没有被要求提交这些材料），于是我也就没为这次申请签准备。所以，我被VO凶了好久，说不可以。最后，好不容易说服VO，她让我7天以内提交Additional Document 否则拒签。我周三上午9点22的预约，周四上午又去大使馆drop off，周五回村儿，周六上午收到签证。尽管一路波折，不过意大利使馆的工作效率真是奇高！自己申请前一直想在网上查一些申根意大利纽约使馆的流程神马的，都不太好找，于是就想自己签完了可以发一个签经神马的。最后，祝小盆友们以后申请顺利！
