ah, another glorious summer's day in beijing! it's always nice to see my beijing brothers enjoying the heat and they aren't the only ones who dare to be bare in these Hutong. i know some people who want to spend their summer's time on the white sands of Hainan island, or trekking in the mountains, but not me! i say 2008 is gonna be the summer of love, so let the sunbathing Olympics begin! of course, it would be nice if just this once, some shuaige(帅哥) was here to put the polotion on the back. i cannot be the only girl in this tower in their 30s and still single, can i? i guess i am not the only one with a Jewish mother, so it makes me wonder. how do all of these chinese singles and their mothers find Mr. Right? it sounds like arranging marriages aren't just the things of the past in china. in fact,i've heard just across the Forbidden City, Zhongshan Park is swarming with singles on the weekend. all you have to do is bring your resume, height, weight and blood type included. and i've heard it's a place for single girls like me can get a little help in the love department. so i am going to head down there to see if i can arrange a little love connection for myself this weekend. Gee! these crowds looking a little bit older than i had expected. meeting all these marriage-crazed parents makes me wonder what it is exacetly they are so worried about. i sit down to talk with two mothers who are regulars of this park. and when i understand a little bit more about why they are so anxious to make a match for their children.
