查到了，在wikipedia上有较全面的解释。 The public domain is a range of abstract materials—commonly referred to as intellectual property—which are not owned or controlled by anyone. The term indicates that these materials are therefore "public property", and available for anyone to use for any purpose. 说白了，就是开源、公共使用的意思。真日啊，翻译成公共域，相当发指！！！我是在 C Primer Plus 第五版P10，1.7.3 小节看到的这个词，希望大家不要被它蒙住。顺便强烈鄙视一下英文根据字面意思直译的不负责任的行为！！！【在 yegle 的大作中提到: 】 : 去google啥叫public domain : btw把public domain翻译成公共域很发指……
