谭博教授是00级北邮通信工程本科毕业,希望北邮学子加入他的团队。 Ph.D. Research Opportunity in Radio Frequency Convergence Background Two major radio frequency (RF) applications, communications and sensing (Radar), have evolved in parallel paths because of the comparable separate applied scenarios and purposes. In fact, wireless communications and sensing share some fundamental commonalities in signal level processing and component level constraints, such as signal detection, parameter estimation, beamforming, interfering cancellation, the imperfection of the antenna(s) and high-frequency components, etc. On the other side, emerging application scenarios as connected autonomous vehicles (CAV), healthcare, home automation, and intelligent machines actuate the integrating of the wireless connectivity and perception in the same entity or scene. Besides, the evolving of machine learning tools provide a chance to model the application, environment even component behavior for optimized multi-purpose radio design. Above driven forces urge radically new approaches on RF algorithm, system and component design for merging radio communications and sensing features in unified hardware and shared frequencies in future wireless products with specific emphasis on beyond 5G network and applications. Opportunity Here is a Ph.D. opportunity ( Reference Salary: level 3, 4 in page 123 [1] according to experience level ) to work on the above exciting research topic in Radio Communications and System group, Faculty of Information Technology and Communication Sciences (ITC), Tampere University, Finland. The successful candidate will work on novel signal processing and system verification of the radar-comm system within the Business Finland “RF Convergence: Multi-function Array Transceivers for Future Communications and Sensing” project. The Ph.D. will also have opportunities to collaborate with the Aalto University and industries partners, e.g., SAAB, Nokia Bell Lab, Radientum, Optenni, CoreHW, and DA Design during the research. Requirement Candidates are expected to have MSc degree (or equivalent working experience) in electronics, communications, computer science or other related topics, also strong motivation and ability in both theoretical and experimental research. Track records on signal processing, modelling, system design and machine learning are welcome. Appropriate English skill in the working environment is required (referring to the university requirement).
