学术讲座通知 报告题目:MIMO Mobile-to-Mobile Propagation Channel Modelling: Recent Advances and Future Challenges 报告人:Dr. Cheng-Xiang Wang(Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, UK. http://www.ece.eps.hw.ac.uk/~cxwang/ ) 时间:7月7日(星期一)下午3:00 地点:教三楼111 摘要:Mobile-to-mobile (M2M) channel modelling has received much attention recently due to the increasing applications of intelligent transportation systems, wireless mobile ad hoc networks, and relay-based cellular networks, where both the transmitter and receiver are normally in motion and equipped with lowly elevated antennas. Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) technology is very promising for M2M communications since multiple antenna elements can be easily placed on large vehicle surfaces. In this talk, I will first start with an overview of recent advances in this area. Then, a generic and adaptive geometrical-based stochastic reference model is proposed for MIMO M2M Ricean fading channels. The proposed model employs a combined two-ring model and elliptical-ring model, where the received signal is constructed as a sum of the line-of-sight (LoS), single-bounced, and double-bounced rays with different energies. This makes the model sufficiently generic and therefore includes many existing channel models as special cases. Also, the model can easily be adapted to a variety of M2M propagation environments, e.g., outdoor macro- and micro-cells taking into account different traffic volumes, by adjusting model parameters. Some important statistical properties of the proposed model are studied, e.g., the space-time-frequency (STF) correlation function (CF), space-Doppler-frequency (SDF) power spectrum, and Doppler power spectrum. The talk will be concluded by addressing future challenges in this area. 此报告为前沿讲座,欢迎全校师生踊跃参加。 校学术委员会 电信工程学院 2008年7月7日 Biography Cheng-Xiang Wang received the BSc and MEng degrees in Communication and Information Systems from Shandong University, Shandong, P. R. China, in 1997 and 2000, respectively, and the PhD degree in Wireless Communications from Aalborg University, Aalborg, Denmark, in 2004. Dr Wang has been a Lecturer in Mobile Communications and Networks at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, UK since 2005. He is also an Honorary Fellow of the University of Edinburgh, a Guest Researcher of Xidian University, and an Adjunct Professor of Guilin University of Electronic Technology, P. R. China. From 2001 to 2005, he was a Research Fellow with the University of Agder, Grimstad, Norway. From January to April 2004, he was a Visiting Researcher at Baseband Algorithms & Standardization Lab of Siemens AG-Mobile Phones, Munich, Germany. From 2000 to 2001, he was a Research Assistant with Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg, Hamburg, Germany. His current research interests include wireless channel modelling and simulation, error models, cognitive radio, mobile-to-mobile communications, cooperative (relay) communications, cross-layer design of wireless networks, MIMO, OFDM, UWB, mobile ad hoc and wireless sensor networks, and 3GPP long term evolution. He has published over 90 papers in journals and conference proceedings. Dr Wang serves as an Editor for 4 international journals: IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing Journal (John Wiley & Sons), Security and Communication Networks Journal (John Wiley & Sons), and Journal of Computer Systems, Networks, and Communications (Hindawi). He also serves as a Guest Editor for Special Issue on "Cognitive Radio Systems" of International Journal of Autonomous and Adaptive Communications Systems (Inderscience), TPC vice-chair for IEEE HPCC 2008, TPC track chair for IEEE ICIEA 2008, and TPC member for 26 major international conferences including IEEE VTC 2005-Fall, GLOBECOM 2006, ICC 2007, ICC 2008, GLOBECOM 2008, and ICC 2009.
