应我校无线新技术研究所邀请，美国伊利诺理工大学副校长Dennis A. Roberson教授将来我校作学术讲座。Dennis A. Roberson教授是通信领域的专家，曾任摩托罗拉总公司执行副总裁兼首席技术官员。这次讲座主要涉及感知无线电技术方面的内容。题目：The Cognitive Radio Opportunity – Low Hanging Fruit to Fruit Bowl Navigation 主讲人： Prof. Dennis A. Roberson 时间：2007年3月20日（星期二）上午10：00-11：30 地点：教三楼136报告厅内容简介：There is large and rapidly growing value proposition for cognitive radio networks, with specific physical layer opportunities in four distinct classes. The use of spectrum observatories and sensor arrays will be critical components needed to take advantage of these classes and to support the wide deployment of the technology. The results of a Chicago-based spectrum occupancy study illustrate the opportunity showing that most of the spectral capacity is currently unused, even in dense metropolitan areas. An initial set of spectral signatures is presented for common devices with the view that this technique can be widely deployed across the spectrum to assist in the roll-out of highly intelligent cognitive radio systems. The limitations of current network simulation tools in an interference environment are highlighted, and the related impact described. Finally, several of the non-technology related issues that must be overcome to enable the deployment of cognitive radio techniques are introduced. 此报告为前沿讲座，可以盖章，欢迎全校师生踊跃参加。
