报告题目：Research at the Photonic Research Centre of
The Hong Kong Polytechnic University
内容简介：Photonic research centre is a university level research centre at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. In this presentation, some of our recent research work at the centre will be introduced. In particular, our work in the area of optical signal monitoring for high speed optical networks will be discussed in detail.

吕超教授简历：Chao Lu obtained his BEng in Electronic Engineering from Tsinghua University, China in 1985, and his MSc and PhD from University of Manchester in 1987 and 1990 respectively. He joined the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore as Lecturer in 1991 and was an Associate Professor from January 1999 to April 2006. In 1997, he helped to establish the optical communication and fibre device research at the Network Technology Research Centre (NTRC) of NTU. From June 2002 to December 2005, he was seconded to the Institute for Infocomm Research, Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore, as Program Director and Department Manager, leading a research group in the area of optical communication and fibre devices. Since April 2006, he has been a Professor in the Department of Electronic and Information Engineering, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. His research interests include optical communication systems and networks, fibre devices for optical communication and sensor systems. He has been subcommittee chair of OECC2009, TPC chair of APMP2010 and TPC member of OFC 2011 and was founding chairman of IEEE photonic society Singapore chapter.
