ICC 2008系列学术讲座（第二场） http://buptoa.bupt.edu.cn/student_broad.nsf/e28ed69f46b9e7ff482567b4002a2622/67f90d1ac41e18434825744a0024528b?OpenDocument 由IEEE举办的2008世界通信大会（International Conference on Communications, ICC 2008）将于5月19日至23日在中国北京举行，今年的大会主题是“通信：更快、更高、更强”。借此机会，电信工程学院邀请了多位与会资深专家来我校举办ICC 2008系列学术讲座。本次活动由电信院WT&T实验室发起，电信院多个实验室共同承办。 5月19日将举办ICC 2008系列学术讲座第二场，欢迎全校师生踊跃参加。报告题目：On Achieving Secure and Privacy-Preserving Vehicular Communications（车载通信系统中的安全和隐私保护问题）主讲人：Prof. Pin-Han Ho (Associate Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department in University of Waterloo, Canada) 时间：2008年5月19日（周一）下午2: 00-4: 00 地点：教三楼136报告厅内容摘要：Recently, car manufacturers and telecommunication industries gear up to equip each car with the technology that allows the drivers and passengers to communicate with each other as well as with the roadside infrastructure, which is located in some critical sections of the road, such as at every traffic light or any intersection or any stop sign, in order to improve the driving experience and make driving safer. This is also referred to as Vehicular Ad hoc Networks (VANETs), which is expected to serve as a fundamental functional block for constructing an Intelligent Transportation System (ITS). With VANETs, security and privacy preservation have been identified as critical issues in pushing success of such application scenarios. This talk will cover the essential issues on the security and privacy preservation in vehicular communications, and will provide an insight technological overview on the state-of-the-art progresses on VANETs from both academia and industry. 此报告为前沿技术讲座，欢迎全校师生踊跃参加。校学术委员会电信工程学院 2008年5月8日附：主讲人简介 Prof. Pin-Han Ho received his B.Sc. (1993) and M.Sc. (1995) Degree from National Taiwan University, and Ph.D. (2002) degree from Queen’s University at Kingston, Canada, respectively. He joined the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department in University of Waterloo, Canada in 2002, and he is now an associate professor. Dr. Pin-Han Ho is the author/coauthor of more than 150 refereed technical papers on wired and wireless communications networking. His current research interest includes optical network survivability/availability design, wireless video multicast, cognitive radios, security and privacy preservation in vehicular communications, etc. He is the recipient of Distinguished Research Excellent Award in 2006, Early Researcher Award (Premier Research Excellence Award) in 2005, the Best Paper Award in SPECTS'02, ICC'05 Optical Networking Symposium, and ICC'07 Security and Wireless Communications symposium, and the Outstanding Paper Award in HPSR'02.
